Feeding and calf management

An increasingly more important aspect of a healthy dairy farm is calf management. Hygiene practice and good feeding management are essential for both the health and well-being of your young calves. V-milk has a long-standing reputation in producing quality milk replacers. Because young calves have a not fully developed immune system with a sensitive digestive tract you should only feed a milk replacer specially designed for calves like V-milk calf. Most essential for a healthy start is to give calves colostrums within preferable an hour after birth. On the fifth day V-milk Calf can be introduced to the calves. Calves will be provided with all necessary nutrition, by our vitamin and mineral enriched V-milk calf. To ensure healthy rumen and gut development we advice to provide hay and creep feed additionally to V-milk around the second week.   
V-milk Calf is a product range of calf milk replacers suited to your requirements. Within the range we provide replacers based on skimmed milk powder or based on whey powder. Our replacers based on whey powder have been acidified to better protect young calves against bacteria that cause diarrhoea. In our skimmed milk replacers we have added Dosto Oregano an extract made from the Mediterranean herb oregano which has been proven to have a positive effect on protecting your calves from harmful bacteria.
Dosto Oregano provides young calves with bioactive essential oils like carvacrol and thymol which have a very specific characteristic which interferes with the harmful bacteria.
